The BLAQK GOLD Project
Since the beginning of time, gold has been seen and used as a symbol of royalty and prestige value. It is the most malleable and ductile, has the highest corrosion resistance and does not oxidize or corrode in comparison to other metals. Chemically speaking, gold may be seen as uninteresting; however that is what makes it so valuable. One could create a house made completely of gold and be confident that 1,000 years from now, it would be found in pristine condition. The Blaqk Gold Project promotes this very thinking and attribution of characteristics to Black people — we are royalty, of prestige value and we inherently possess a greatness inside of us that is unexplainable.
